Week 8 Zoho Writer

I had a play with Zoho Writer and reproduced part of a poem by Wordsworth with appropriate image, one of my favourite poets and an appropriate poem on the eve of Daffodil Day. I found editing the blog was a little fraustrating and was difficult to attain the end result I wanted.

Week 8 word processing tools - Zoho Writer

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high over vale and hill

And all at once I saw a crowd

A host of golden daffodils.

Beside the lake,

Beneath the trees

Fluttering and dancing

In the breeze.

Wordsworth.

Week 9 Podcasts etc

I checked out YouTube briefly (with Donna's help) and chose a video on the Eiffel Tower to add to my blog. I chose this clip because it brings back memories of my visit to Paris in 2005 a special place visited during an amazing nine weeks away. Bring on the next OE.

I also checked out Yahoo: What is a podcast tutorial. Yahoo! podcasts claim to be the largest and best organised collection of podcasts on the internet. Trawling though I found an interesting number on Jane Austen - a series that has recently made interesting Sunday night viewing on Tv.

I can see the application for audiobooks - new MP3 player and long car trips equal catching up on some interesting reading - certainly lots of titles to choose from - the classics and motivational books appeal.

Week 7 Tagging, folksonomies & Technorati and Week 8 Wiki's and things

I have looked at the book marking site http://del.icio.us/ and created a Del.icio.us account but have not fully explored it's applications for me. Checking out Technorati "the leading search tool for blogs" I found there were 22,982 blog posts about Learning 2.0 and 536 blogs about Learning 2.0 in the blog directory. As soon as I write these figures they are likely to be outdated with the number of blogs increasing at an astonishing rate.

I have been looking at Wikis - lots to see here and in the bullrun library went through to site to create my name in rainbow colours - cute but didn't copy.
The site is http://www.degraeve.com.cgi/ -

I thought the Book Lover's Wiki developed by the Princeton Public Library could be useful for someone who wanted to try something new and didn't know where to start. There are some good reviews posted.
